If they sort the Irish backstop then this deal will get voted through

As despite labours claims most of it is pretty much what they want anyway and had they not been pursuing their general election at all costs then I suspect many labour MPs would have voted for it.

Interesting position now for the EU. If they won’t move on the backstop and force a no deal then they bring about the one outcome they say they don’t want - a hard border in Ireland. For me therefore Mays position to put to them is pretty simple, agree a time limit/termination provision on the backstop and the deal will get voted through.

At the end of the day we have a right now to terminate and walk away and impose a hard border after 2 years so really any new deal should just maintain the status quo.
