We needed (and still do need in my view) more of a new broom than we've got

The club seemed to think that just replacing Webber with Knapper would be enough to placate fans but it goes deeper than that.

As always it flows from the top and we still have Delia and MWJ hanging around and managing to drag out the most long winded and torturous takeover known to mankind. That means we are still effectively stuck with the ownership that we know brings failure at prem level and we have't even been able to get excited about any potential new ownership.

Knapper is in but we still have the ghost of Webber hanging over most areas of the club (literally in the case of Zoe still being there) and we have a coach in charge in whom a very significant chunk of the fan base have no faith and who very few think will be there next season.

We have not had a new broom or the start of a new chapter. we are still in limbo.

Had Knapper come in and sacked Wagner and brought in his own man then would results have been better? Possibly not because results have actually been pretty good despite performances remaining very unconvincing at times. However, in terms of the atmosphere and feel around the place I do think it would have improved markedly because it would have been a more genuine re-boot.
