since I'd always been pretty critical of him, despite some success - but he's just reverted to his limited old self - in retrospect, we shd have moved on after the W/C - southgate did an amazing job rebuilding the team spirit, but hasn't got the skills to go further - we need/ed someone to build on what he's done
