We're a middling team which is developing a pleasing knack of grinding out results. Last night I still didn't think we deserve the hype, but thought we might have the pieces to noodle our way through. First time I've felt that.

Key for me is not just slinging the best players on paper in, but having a plan and then using those sparky players to add the odd bit of glitz.

In the same way as we persisted playing Gerrard and lampard together for years and never getting the best out of either, I worry that we could do the same with Grealish/Foden/Mount.

They're all great players true, but I see little evidence that they get the best out of each other (yet).

We could equally get tonked, but that's tourney football.
