we were pretty s**t at the start of the second season as well, until excellent young defenders forced their way into the team, along with Buendia. And Pukki was given a chance at number 9, instead of the number 10 role he initially seemed to have been intended to fulfill, behind Rhodes.

Was this all part of a plan continuing from the previous season? Or was it a case of various different things coming together at the right time. I'm not so sure.
