well, you've hit the nail on the head

with saying that it's much, much easier to change the manager than the players. It's not necessarily that the manager has become s**t, it's that after relegation he has too much baggage with these players, too much loss of trust, to get the best out of them.

It's not complacent or lazy in the slightest to recognise this. It's something that has clearly been demonstrated by our own relegations in the past.
