sorry, but..
the past few years have been characterised by fans whinging about how crap we are. The fact that they were being entertained by Hucks doesn't seem to have made up for the fact that we were a poor team. A huge part of the reason we were a poor team was the way we pandered to Hucks and the fact that he didn't want to play as a striker (he just liked hugging the touchline) and wouldn't put the work in to be a midfielder, hence the sh*tty 4-3-3 horror of a formation that we usually ended up with.
The simple fact is that unless Hucks could reproduce his form of 2003/4 we were never going to be a good team with him in it. He never really did look like reproducing that form (and was costing us a lot in the process), so for a chance of us becoming a good team he had to go.
We appear to have created plenty of chances so far this season so we aren't missing his creativity. Our problems so far have simply been in finishing and since Hucks was generally a pretty hopeless finisher I rather doubt his presence would make much difference in this regard.
Let it go. It's only 2 games. As a club we have to look forward FFS
