But I'd still be much happier seeing him, at most, as assistant to someone else. He just isn't ready yet. I bet Magilton had at least been preparing himself for management over the preceding few months, perhaps even years; DD hasn't at all. On the contrary, he's been looking to stretch his playing career out as long as possible, and rightly so too.

Not with us in this predicament - not given it'll be a tough job for ANYONE. In the future, yes - but not now.
