Hard to judge things at the moment isnt it?

I do get that things feel very w**k at the moment. I totally feel that too, and didnt bother to watch last night, I just followed along while i did something else. I was actually relieved we didnt really get our pants pulled down.

Yes, the last three games were really rather s**t. But we've played the team that is 9th in the premier league (with the quality to hurt you) and possibly the two strongest sides in the division both away from home. I mean....they were always going to be a bit s**t werent they? Was anyone expecting a rousing cup win and 4 points from that lot?

Last night we were without our three best players (I think....definitely three OF our best players) in Sarge, Sainz and Nunez. Would we have been less s**t with them in the line up? Yes. Do we need more squad strength? Yes. But still, its a lot of our best talent out.

And the jury is indeed out on many of our signings, but looking at transfers the ones we've spent good money on are 20, 21, 21, 23, 18, 20 and 23. Doyle on loan is 20. Dobbin on loan is 22. I don't know when footballers "peak" these days, but its when they're much older than that. We have clearly not been buying players for a big push THIS season - which also explains why we have got Hanley, Barnes, Fassnacht etc off the books.

Ultimately, things will get better when we have easier matches and better players back. At least one would hope so. And we'll only really know how our transfer dealings are working out next season. We know there will be 1/2 big sales in the summer - there is always is when we're without parachute payments - so either these players step up and fills the gap, or they dont and we stay s**t. Then we'll know how everyone is really performing. Till then, I guess we just hang in there, and watch youtube highlights of Forest h, Millwall h and Portsmouth a to make ourselves feel better.
