Interesting that Natalie Sawyer, a Brentford fan, was saying on Talksport

yesterday that she's not sure she wants to get promoted. She enjoys being competitive in the Champ rather than getting humped in the Prem.

It's not just Brom.

Personally, I'd always want to get promoted - it's a joy. But no doubt that the journey is usually more fun than the destination.
