You should have listen to Ken Clarke from last night

His speech was very well crafted and centred on the idea that all parties must compromise and ultimately he believes we should leave the political union but participate in the trading arrangements, some regulatory alignment and ask for a customs union.

He was also wish parliament to go further than blocking no deal and legislating the government to negotiate for these things if parliament had a majority for them.

The only downside is it was explicitly clear in the referendum that leaving the E.U meant also leaving the single market, customs union & ending free movement etc.

Will be hard to convince those to come to a compromise but maybe the fear of losing seats might perk them up a bit
