It's really easy

For star wars 4,5 & 6 and don't bother with the rest. Maybe Rogue one if you felt like exploring further. The rest of the films are rubbish to a greater or lesser extent. Episode 3 is one of the worst films I've ever seen. Full stop.

For the marvel stuff, release order is you care. If not dip in and out looking at the cast list/context depending on your mood. It's all quite disposable stuff.

In answer to your point about episode 1 first to understand what's going on. I disagree. The success of the first trilogy understood that with good storytelling you don't need to explain, or show, everything. The fact that they're trying to, with diminishing returns is a simple money grab.
