True enough. In a way I'd quite like them to piss off and have their own game.

I'm not even sure that the rest of the teams left behind would suffer. Chelsea v Rosenborg last week had 25,000 at the game, Charlton v us about 22,000. Same city, same time. Where's the demand? I think it would die a death if they did split, and they'd come back after a few years.

Or maybe the credit crunch would extend to football, and the whole industry would settle back down. A man can dream...
