Who infuriated the Berlusconis of this world by bringing back a last 16 knockout stage, since when the competition's been far better and an awful lot more unpredictable. If there was a breakaway, the big clubs would literally seal off the route for anyone else: they'd just have their own bunfight every year, and no-one else would be allowed to enter.
