You made a ton of assumptions with no proof.

Maybe they did investigate and found nothing credible?
Maybe he was lied to?
Maybe he took the word of somebody he knew over someone he didnt know?

Lets assume the headteacher wasnt at the actual incident/incidents.

Then he is only relaying what a third party told him.

While he may be trustworthy, we don't know how reliable the person telling him is?

Again, its not cut a dried and the guy is not around to defend himself.
