Well it’s complicated isn’t it

One could take the view that when a headteacher - not some random snot rag trouble maker - came to you and said “one of your members of staff is a pedo”, that you might then have an obligation to make at least some form of investigation given the gravity of such an allegation. Rather than immediately folding in to an incredibly defensive stance, and assuming there was nothing in it, and almost threatening the complainant. And if there had been an investigation, then a whole bunch of terrible actions might have been found and stopped years ago. So one might say, that at the least, a very poor judgement had been made by a senior leader in an organisation, who had every opportunity to do something, but didn’t. And we might then say, maybe it’s right we consider this afresh, find out exactly what happened, then reflect on those facts and say, knowing this, does it still feel right to have a statue of this person here? I have no idea what the outcome of such a process might be, but feels right that someone has a look.

So yeah, there is that.
