What gets me is that every few days someone queries why they are not doing something

which seems quite obvious to even us as laymen (and is also being said by various medical people) and the response is "we are being guided by the science" and then about 3 or 4 days (or sometimes a couple of weeks) later then then do exactly that thing because apparently the science then advises it.

So for example allowing Cheltenham and the Liverpool game to proceed was apparently still the "correct" decision because at that time "the science" (or at least our UK version of the science) was not advising bans on sporting events but then by the end of that same week going to football matches or attending mass gatherings is banned due to "the science". I'm stuggling to see how something can be medically or scientifically adviseable or ok on the Tuesday and then the same thing is medically or scientifically unadviseable not ok the Thursday/Friday of the same week.

We just seem to take half a week to 10 days too long to implement everything in this country.
