What I don’t like or understand is why our referees seem to have been given

Free reign to basically make up the rules as they go along over VAR.

It was technically the right decision but as with these armpit offsides people don’t want to see perfectly good penalty saves ruled out due to minor technical infringements that in reality make no difference to the outcome.

All that said Farke needs to read the riot act to the players not to infringe. We have a keeper now who actually saves penalties. To have saves chalked off is gutting. Lewis was encroaching for both the Man U pens as well.
