if it's technically correct how are they making up the rules?

The problem with VAR is that is demonstrates how often players push the rules of the game to get an advantage. Previously they've gotten away with the marginal calls but now they are not.

In time they will stop trying to push the rules so much and VAR use will reduce.

VAR as a principle is fine. Players need to get used to it, to cheat less, and to stop being divs. We encroached on the retake too, I think?!?

The league does, though, need to be better at communicating what VAR is doing and how these decisions are being made. The black box approach is pretty unsatisfactory.
