I've seen a number of posts recently putting recruitment down as one of the key problems..

In recent years. Whilst nobody can deny that we have recruited fairly poorly (since before AN came in actually), it got me thinking about other clubs of a similar size, financial strength and location (e.g. Not 'close' to a major city - London, Manchester, Brum).

Have any of those clubs recruited any better? I wonder what the failure rate is with signings? (if you can even really measure it?).

I don't have the answers but I think it's something worth thinking about. There's probably a much higher chance of things not working out than at a bigger, wealthier club. I'd suspect that the problem of recruitment is not something that is limited to a few badly run clubs and indeed is probably relatively common among many clubs outside of the elite clubs in the U.K.

Makes you wonder.
