Who agrees with this?

Whether Ashton stays or not, our chances of reaching the play-offs this season are as good as finished now. If we get ?8m for Ashton then I believe it is for the best that we dont splash out a stupid amount of money on Jerome, a player who has only proven himself this season, and whos price will only increase when they know how much we've got for Ashton.

I believe is would be best for us to now write this season off and use it to give our youth a chance. We have a hell of a lot of youth players who just aren't getting a chance as average players are brought in who just aren't making the grade.

I think we should now use the rest of this season to give our youth a proper chance. Ryan/Rossi Jarvis. Shackell, Henderson, Spillane should be given a LOT of opportunities to be shown if they can make it at this level. If by the end of the season they've shown they can't(With except to Rossi and Spillane who've only just got involved) then we need to get rid of them as they have no hope of progressing in a team where they're in for 2 games then out for 10.

At the end of the season we can then get rid of all the crap that Worthy has signed this year, top of the list being Jurgen 'Feel free to put all the crosses you want in' Colin. Jarrett and Etuhu have until the end of the season to prove they have the abilty. I think Etuhu will prove he does, Jarrett I am still very much unsure of, although he looked better today too (well compared to the West Ham game he HAD to look better today!!), Thorne has no physical presence up front and after about 60mins McVeigh had won more headers than him, an atrocious fact considering Thorne is supposedly a "target man". I say keep the majority of the ?8m until the summer, see what the youth can do, and then buy in the summer when we aren't paying stupid money for players who are not yet proven top quality players.

Players I'd definitely keep in the summer:

Green, Docherty, Fleming (Looking solid with Doc although age against him now sadly), Safri, McVeigh, Hucks, Drury, Mckenzie (Pathetically short list of top players)

Players who need to play for their futures:

Etuhu, Jarrett, Charlton (more cos of his age), Hughes (100% Commitment but just not a good enough passer for a top half Championship side), Henderson (Good game today), Ryan Jarvis (you can only be a promising youngster for so long...), Shackell (still think he's quality and hopefully will stay and prove it), Robinson (Think he'll be ok but does tend to disappear in games to the point where you sometimes wonder if he's playing, but as back up for ?50,000 he's OK.

Players who definitely need to go:

Colin (Just awful - Constantly draws our other defenders out of position to cover his mistakes. Docherty is constantly having to move across to cover him when he's caught out of position), Brennan (never been a regular ever since he joined), Louis-Jean (Injured constantly and don't rate him at all anyway), Gallagher (We have Joe Lewis - Why are we wasting money with FOUR keepers(!!!) and we've completley managed to ruin Gallagher's career and he no longer has an international career).

Bring on the youth and hopefully build a new team in the summer to build around the players in our team who are good enough to push us up this league.
