A different take on "experience"

Anyone remember when the Marcos's were forced out of the Phillipines? Corrie Aquino took over and they said, "but she's got no experience" To which she replied "It's true, I have no experience......of corruption, murder and dictatorship" Or words to that effect.

Point being that experience is not always what it's cracked out to be especially if it's of the wrong sort. Stringer had no experience, neither did Brown and Walker had very little of it. They all did a pretty good job though, especially as they chose good people to work wit - i.e. Williams, Machin and Deehan.

I bet none of us were that excited by any of those appointments at the time - cheap options etc but if you remember, Phil Neale was allegedly coming before Walker took over and how crap would THAT have been?
