It's very odd though

Knowing that it is supposed to be a myth, I did it myself on the equator this summer. Plastic bowl with a little hole in, draining into a bucket, bit of grass to observe direction of water swirl if any. Water completely at rest before hole opened.

Ten yards north - circled one way. Ten yards south - circled the other. On the equator - went straight down.

I was confooosed. It definitely worked!
