1) I think he was invited to leave more than chose to leave. He did run out of ideas I think.
2) I wasn't aware of him ruling himself out but if that's the word I wont contradict it.
Royle did say Ipswich would be his last job, but that came into doubt almost straight after his departure when he was rumoured to be considering various vacancies.
