The Balance..... revisited part 42....Haterz dont read..... its long.

This is pretty much playing out as predicted.... we score lots of goals but still need anywhere between 3-6 goals to win a game.

Some real red flags in the post match presser.

Hoff mentioned that there is no fight and he is looking for us to win more duels.......the complete opposite of what he has been preaching about not getting involved with duels......to me that's just bizarre.

We were solid vs WBA (Win and clean sheet) and then he came out with indignation saying he doesn't want to play that way.

If you haven't looked at it, the recent Russell Martin interview with Gary Lineker is absolutely worth a watch.
RM is basically a clone of JHT, admittedly a more successful one.
They worship the Barca teams of the 2008 era and feel the need to replicate it.

GL hinted at the fact the jury is still out on this style unless you have a hoard of world class players to carry it out.
RM was successful last season because he had a high quality squad but even they shipped goals for fun with much much better players than us.

I also don't like the fact that JHT hinted at players who are leaving (on the beach) when it was promised that announcements of the leaving players would be done in March.
Seems like they have deliberately kept it quiet to deflect any heat of playing leaving players over players who will be here next season
JHT is clearly under pressure so is putting short term results over the so called long term project.

Now saying all that. The amount of blame for our situation is only in small part the fault of JHT.

As I have previously mentioned people overestimate the value of a coach and underestimate the value of the SD, recruitment team and owners.

The later is where the majority of the blame lies yet JHT will probably get the sack and all the stick.

The recruitment has been frankly dogs**t.
I had mentioned before I thought we had overpaid for players like Crnac, Jurasek and probably Forson.
They are not bad players but not worth what we paid.

There is also zero evidence (yet?) our new owners are willing to dig deep and rebuild the team.
Its pointless having rich owners with deep pockets but short arms.
Be careful what you wish for. Our new owners are not hard core fans and may liquidate if things go really south.
They are not Delia and MWJ.
Even if we sell some of our best players its going to take a huge recruitment effort. Much more than what we can get from selling those players.
I'm hoping that we see some younger players for the last few games to maybe give us some encouragement for next season.
