Gordon was a proper dud. McConville has plenty of question marks but is young so who knows? Crnac shows flashes but by now we would expect a bit more I think. We have no idea about Jurasek. Schwartau has promise. Sinani and Marcondes - they’ve filled gaps but surely we need better than them to challenge the top 6. If we have a proper clear out in the summer I can imagine we might end up with a completely new midfield.

And the youth graduates will be needed too.

I am hopeful that Mahovo can step up next season. Not seen enough from Myles, Forsyth, Hills or Warner yet to suggest any great promise. Don’t get me wrong - haven’t seen enough to suggest they will be rubbish either but for now I’m assuming they’re in the category of loans until end of contract then gone.

In short I think it could go either way and we haven’t seen enough from most of them to suggest any of the new signings will be an automatic pick on the team sheet next season (with them possible exception of wright if we convince him to join), and that’s a bit of a worry.
