Well confidence is often a fragile thing...

You'll often find that the only difference between teams that do well and those that don't is not necessarily better players or tactics but simply that some manage to build up a crucial momentum. An initial run of wins which builds confidence, which means you play better and get better results and build more confidence etc. We haven't managed to build that momentum at any point this season, partly because every good win/performance seemed to be followed by injuries and/or suspensions that forced changes that broke up any possible run and momentum building.
