Yes its quite simple

Kenny was given a retrospective red card for violent conduct. Therefore the offence has to meet the criteria for violent conduct. It doesn't, as accidentally striking a player with your arm below the face is not violent conduct, even if it may be a foul.

I said last night the foul given on Gunn was one that might not regularly be given so we were a little lucky but it is a foul to carelessly or recklessly jump at, push or impede your opponent through contact. Indeed you could argue that it was obstruction without contact before the ball came in which is an indirect free kick. Technically that could probably be given at any set piece ver taken!
