I watch my dad die along and painful and traumatic death.

I spent over two weeks sitting with him for hours, in hospital, in the most inhumane final days of any living things life.

I had to hold him down at one point because he was so distressed, gasping for breath.

Of course, I needed a rest from these moments, and the one day that I wasn’t by his bedside, he died. Alone.

It will never leave me, those last few weeks, and today’s legislation would’ve made the whole horrific situation a lot easier for him and his family.

I’m for it.
