Facilitating/allowin g mass immigration is left wing in my view

Or it must be surely if being opposed to mass immigration is now "far right"? Left wing and centre left parties tend to favour it. That may not have always been the case but it is now. I also accept that the tories were an anomaly in recent years.

Their acceptance/facilitation of it over a long period is what is driving what is referred to as "populism" - the left wing parties and the EU are effectively pushing people into the hands of the likes of Farage by not only not listening to how people feel on these issues but dismissing them or patronising them as "far right" or misinformed. Or saying there is nothing we can do when that is patently not the case.

Look across the EU. The populations are lurching right in terms of their views despite the political institutions of the EU being predominantly left wing in terms of make up and thinking. Has it done so because suddenly the population have become a bunch of far right nazis or have people got fed up with (amongst other things) poorly integrated, mass legal and illegal immigration that they never voted for completely changing the demographics, feel and identity of their countries. And then if they dare utter a word of concern about that they are called racist or "far right." This was a very big part of what fuelled Brexit, particularly when Cameron went to the EU asking for concessions and was rebuffed. That was the moment that Brexit became a real possibility.

That's what i mean. Maybe i'm not expressing it as clearly as I would like. Obviously harder economic times hasten the feeling of discontent in a population. During the good times people will overlook their concerns.
