of course Southgate knows more than I do, or any of us, but I'm not bound to accept everything he says and does uncritically - and when it comes to it, the proof or otherwise of his actions is visible and obvious - if a centre forward wanders around ineffectually for 90 minutes barely touching the ball, it's fair to observe that something somewhere is a bit wrong.

Anyway, he'll probably score a brilliant hat trick tonight, and Idah will soon be at real madrid, and all will be well.
