Well for a start it actually makes the offside rule far more fair and sensible

Players shouldn't be penalised unless they have done something wrong to gain an unfair advantage. Having a kneecap or leg slightly ahead of an opponent is generally impossible to judge or avoid,and doesn't give you an unfair advantage.
Take the famous Pukki one against Spurs - he actually timed his run PERFECTLY and yet was penalised because the current law is an ass.
Having your whole body ahead is much easier to avoid (as long as you stay roughly level it shouldn't happen) and probably gives you an advantage, so it IS fair to penalise someone for it.
