Well it does depend on the process

If you want to appoint a specific out of work manager then you could approach them behind the manager's back etc and get it all sorted before you pull the trigger.

If you want to interview a wider number of candidates, some of whom maybe in work, then it will take time.

The fact is that Webber pulled the trigger after the Leeds game and the decision was only made at the end of week. That really doesn't give any time to have someone in place. Hence the process we are going through now.
