but the difference

is that there's a super abundance of evidence that the Labour party under Corbyn has failed miserably and repeatedly (and eventually, one infers, deliberately) to deal with the problem - as eg Lord Falconer said - and Neill came up a series of examples, as did Emily Maitlis on newsnight last night. There is simply no room for sympathy here. In fact, there is no obvious room for anything other than condemnation - it's the culmination of many years consorting with and taking (as he still does) the support of people who are violently anti-western and anti-American and with a particular obsession with the middle east & Israel - all of this should have been highlighted at the last election, but people treated Corbyn then as some sort of cuddly old chap with no chance of victory. Had he been uncovered then, the Labour Party now, under more electable, sensible leadership, could well have been miles clear in the polls. As it is, the big event will be the outcome, post election, of its impending and very bloody civil war.
