Dude, do some research on rates of self-harm and suicide amongst LGBT+ communities and the direct correlation between said rates and degrees of acceptance. Equal marriage, for instance, has had a measurable impact on suicide rates within those communities. Trans teens accepted by their parents in their real identity have a much lower rate of attempted and completed suicide than those only partially accepted or rejected by their parents.
