I agree with the academy focus.

I just thought it was an interesting discussion as to whether “football” should try and do something to make it harder for this to happen. In short, should the club developing the player get a bigger slice if that player subsequently goes for big money.

Perhaps the answer is in a mandatory “sell on” fee for players who’ve been developed at a club for more than x years.
