...(including where I work) openly discussing salary, be it your own or otherwise, is grounds in itself for disciplinary. Not just salary either, bonus (or lack thereof) also. In my line of work, people shy away from salary discussions and a nod or a wink at bonus time suggests if you did alright or not. Under GDPR, potentially, HR own your salary details, so they should be the ones to police its disclosure, I believe, so in your case, you could take it to them on those grounds after today.
