I agree with not airbrushing, also have to be careful with promoting offensive material

Airbrushing really is a problem, we've airbrushed a lot of s**t out of our history which plays a part in the Nationalistic streak that is so ingrained in many people.

As a nation I think we've proved in the past we really don't like facing up to the realities of parts of our history that we have absorbed into our culture as 'Good Things' or 'Victories'.

Dresden was mentioned on here buy SiH and is a good example of that, gets more attention these days though.
