Security scans at hotels would be great in theory but not really possible -

you'd have to have security on 24-7 and be scanning people every time they go out and come back in.

OK we don't often go in and out with our suitcases, but we do with smaller bags.

I'm still amazed that they don't do it on international trains or boats though.
