That's the point, why apologise? Its not a proper apology anyway.
If you feel you have to apologise, then there is no remorse its a forced action, so not genuine, so pretty pointless.
I get entirely your point, but personally I'd rather people apologised when they actually felt bad, but yes suppose that is where we are now.
