And as Chomsky (I think) said, the classic route to privatisation, and therefore diverting what was public money into the hands of the wealthy, is to start defunding to cause problems, while blaming the problems on the services you've defunded. You claim there is no money (even though there is money to spend on other projects) and therefore private enterprise has to help.

Meanwhile anyone who objects or protests is called resistant to progress, over sensitive or unpatriotic. It's a joy.
