I was reacting really to jim going off the deep end.

I think Delia is right really, short termism isn't the way to go. The most important thing is that there is a club for people to enjoy in 100 years time.

I think we could be a bit sharper sometimes within that framework, but I prefer this to a ruthless investor.

I get the hypocrisy point, but she's doing what she thinks is best for the club, and it's not as if a foreign investor or other billionaire necessarily takes us to a better place.
