Lambert signed lads with character first, talent second

ie character, and knowing as part of their character that they were hungry to play at a higher level, or would follow orders to the letter etc.

Take Marc Tierney for example. Not the greatest fullback of all time, I remember that Drente bulb for Everton destroying him. But by christ we got value for money from him. He was solid. He could defend like a Spartan. He could attack. He gave 100% every game and never let us down. He played to his limit.

Don't want to keep banging the Lambert drum, but if Canos and Pritchard are not good enough to get in this team, and Bassong is still judged in favourable enough light despite a litany of f**kups and only turning it on at first when AN threatened to volley him aots, then why even have these twits in our squad and on the payroll?

Its all a bit rum imho.
