Was an issue last season as well, we have decent players but far too many have little or no footballing brain.

Bassong being the biggest culprit but by no means alone in that, even within the back 4.

There isn't much AN can do about his players being thick, other than replace them, which we didn't do well enough. Again.

Things like this will keep happening until we can improve the squad. We have to decide if AN is doing well overall despite having few players he can rely on, OR if his failure to replace those players is more important than the points he is picking up despite them.
