I think AB has it right up there when he talks about nuance ^^^^

The article just comes across as mean spirited and moany to me so I've probably missed a point or two from it.

At the basic level though the whole point of the Olympics is athletes to represent their nation in competition against other nations.

So its going to be fairly nationalistic by default.
We've always celebrated the athlete's as well, i'm not sure that has changed, its just that previously we had 2 3 or 4 channels and that was it.

Now we have multitudes, red buttons, the internet, social media etc etc so coverage is more wall to wall.
