Don't get me wrong i'm not saying they are a bad side at all just

there have been an awful lot of people saying how good Brentford looked but i just think that was as much down to the players we had missing and the way we played as it was down to them being fantastic. If you let any team's most creative players have the ball in acres of space then they will probably look good.

Obviously the line up was forced upon us to a large degree due to the injuries but it is really unfortunate that our biggest weaknesses at the weekend coincided almost perfectly with their main strengths. That's why I think it was a really questionable decision not to play with one less striker (I don't think Laff on the left works anyway) and put Wes and Bennett in there or even Mcgrandles or Grant or Hall-Johnson (i.e. someone energetic from the U21s.)

Its really surprising given that we are told that Neil spends a lot of time in the lead up to games analysing how the opposition plays that we did not try and do more to stop Pritchard getting so much space but maybe he did and has now learnt that the likes of Whitaker and Lafferty just can;t be relied upon. Or maybe he just thought we could not counter it with the players available so would have to go route one.

It will be interesting to see how they fare in the games they have coming up against Bournemouth, Watford and Middlesbrough.
