I agree in an overall sense, but for me his play was directed more to the wings

last season and we saw less of his through balls in the middle. I don't know whether that was a form thing or down to tactical instructions (in the diamond he has more options for a through ball), but regardless, he wasn't creating as many direct opportunities as he had the previous season. Anyone who watched our stoic approach to games last season would have surely noted the difference.
