I agree with your comment that he has not pissed away money on players. He has just borrowed them. Perhaps we should have established a core squad of players (albeit from lesser clubs) and then done the Worthy option of loaning a few gems to add to that rather than building a squad around youngsters with no direct loyalty to the cause, no?
