No it isn't

Look at Fergie and Wenger, people always say - they were given time, and look at them now! But Fergie was *this* close to being axed during a far less pressurised era for managers; and Wenger immediately got Arsenal into contention. Of course we want to give any manager time - but to do so, there has to be some sort of sign of progress at this stage. I anticipated a lower mid-table campaign, finishing 14th to 16th; but I certainly didn't expect a relegation battle. If he's the wrong man (though it's still too early to tell for sure), he should be removed: I'd expect any club to do the same.

To put it another way: we gave Worthington plenty of time. But that's only because he immediately moved us away from trouble in 2000/1 - then had us up near the top from early the following season onwards. It was still a 3 year project - but his position strengthened purely because we could all see the large steps forward being taken. We cannot say the same of Roeder at all: hence this debate.
