I've Said This Before, But....

The next six months or so HAVE to be amongst the most critically important of this clubs history.

Talking to fans over the last few days, there is still a "we won't go down" mentality amongst a goodly few. Oh dear God people, please don't go there.

Don't automatically and with a great deal of blase thinking just assume we won't because we are Norwich!

In recent years, the following teams have, or still do, played/play in the English 3rd Division/League 1, having also been a club in the Premiership:-

Manchester City, Sunderland, Fulham, Reading, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United....and, go back a little further and you can include Bradford City, Swindon Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers, QPR (I think) and Barnsley.

Some of those clubs would regard themselves as decidely bigger than ours-more worringly, a few more would perhaps conclude that they are about the same sort of size and "type" of club as Norwich and, once they took that tumble, they stayed put.

You can just see us going down and the club making all sorts of noises next Summer about "coming straight back up again", hell, someone joked about 'On Loan To League 1' T-Shirts yesterday, but, as XXL15 would buy one, I'm sure the club would go for it anyway!

Roeder and Clark need backing now from our Board, backing in the form of money to get in what we have let slip away and never replaced in recent years-QUALITY.

Same Board also need to shut the f**k up about potential investors and buyers not being out there, no-one wants to buy my house at the moment, but, as it isn't for sale and doesn't have a "For Sale" sign outside, that might be the reason. Comprehend, Delia?

If we go down-and at present, we are as near as certainities as the current squad are completely incapable of (sire, we might win the odd game) putting together the sort of run we need to get clear and away from the bottom three-seven, eight consecutive wins at least?

If we go down...we might find it nigh on difficult to ever come back. I suspect that Delia might paper it over by saying League 1 is "proper football" and being wined, dined, and kowtowed to by all the Chairmen and Boards "down there" as Norwich come to town ("its our Cup Final") but those 24'000 fans who they obviously see as even bigger idiots than those people who won't buy them out....well, they'll be long gone and where will the club be then?

Thats right, another Bradford, another Swindon, another Barnsley....remembering good times when they were not even that compared to what we MIGHT aspire to.
